The Benefits of Seeing an Auto Injury Chiropractor

The aftermath of a car accident can be a tumultuous period, filled with concerns about your vehicle, insurance claims, and most importantly, your health. While injuries like broken bones or cuts are often immediately apparent, some injuries, especially those related to the musculoskeletal system, may not show symptoms until much later. This is where the expertise of an auto injury chiropractor comes into play.

Immediate Pain Relief

One of the primary benefits of visiting an auto accident injury chiropractor is the potential for immediate pain relief. Chiropractors specialize in the treatment of the spine and can help alleviate discomfort from whiplash, back pain, neck pain, and headaches that often result from car accidents. They use various techniques, such as spinal adjustments, to realign the spine and reduce pressure on the nerves, which can lead to rapid pain reduction.

Non-Invasive Treatment

For those seeking an alternative to surgery, chiropractic care is a non-invasive treatment option. Auto injury chiropractors offer therapies that do not involve surgical procedures, which can be particularly appealing to patients who prefer a more holistic approach to their health. By focusing on the body’s natural ability to heal, chiropractic care can often provide relief without the need for invasive surgical interventions.

Long-Term Health Benefits

Beyond the immediate relief from pain, visiting a car accident chiropractor can provide long-term health benefits. Regular chiropractic care can help maintain proper alignment of the spine, improve mobility, and prevent chronic conditions from developing. Auto injury chiropractors also often give advice on exercises and lifestyle changes that can help strengthen the body and reduce the likelihood of future injuries.

Prevention of Further Injury

The sooner you visit an auto injury chiropractor after a car accident, the better your chances of preventing further injury. A chiropractor can identify and treat hidden injuries, such as small misalignments or soft tissue damage, that might otherwise go unnoticed and lead to long-term health issues. By addressing these issues early, you can help ensure a quicker and more complete recovery.

Personalized Care

Every car accident is different, and so is every patient’s recovery process. Auto injury chiropractors understand this and typically offer personalized care tailored to the specific needs of each patient. They assess the individual’s injuries, pain levels, and overall health before creating a customized treatment plan that addresses their unique situation.

Collaboration with Other Health Professionals

When necessary, auto injury chiropractors can collaborate with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care. If your injuries require the attention of other specialists, a chiropractor can work alongside medical doctors, physical therapists, and other experts to develop a coordinated treatment plan. This collaborative approach can often lead to more effective recovery strategies and better health outcomes. Car accidents can be life-altering events, but with the right care, you can recover and get back to your daily routines. An auto injury chiropractor can provide the care you need to manage pain, heal properly, and maintain your long-term health. If you’ve been involved in a car accident, consider the benefits of chiropractic care as part of your recovery journey.

Dr. Mark Betsill

Dr. Mark Betsill is a dedicated chiropractor serving patients in Gresham with more than a decade of experience helping individuals move better, feel better, and return to the activities they enjoy most. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Health from Boise State University, where his interest in health and human performance first began to take shape.

After experiencing firsthand how chiropractic care helped him recover from an upper back injury that was affecting his golf game, Dr. Betsill discovered the path he wanted to pursue. He went on to attend Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2007.

Dr. Betsill focuses on helping patients recover from neck and back pain, sports injuries, postural stress, auto accident injuries, and workplace-related conditions. He uses gentle, effective techniques including manual adjustments, the Activator Method, and drop-table adjustments to address spinal misalignment and extremity dysfunction. He also has a special clinical interest in neck and lower back disc herniations, often combining chiropractic adjustments with computerized mechanical traction to improve pain relief, mobility, and function.

While many patients first visit because of pain, Dr. Betsill is passionate about helping them move beyond symptom relief. His goal is to help people improve functional movement, maintain spinal health, and support long-term wellness. He treats patients of all ages—including infants, children, teens, athletes, and pregnant women—and believes chiropractic care can play an important role in addressing not only spinal concerns, but also shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot discomfort.

Shortly before graduating in 2007, Dr. Betsill faced a personal health challenge that deeply shaped his philosophy of care. After multiple emergency room visits for dizziness, syncope, and chest pain, he began looking beyond symptoms alone. Through that experience, he came to better understand the effects of physical, chemical, and emotional stress on the body. By combining chiropractic care, massage, exercise, and proper nutrition, he restored his own health—an experience that continues to influence the way he cares for patients today.

Originally from northern Nevada and southern Idaho, Dr. Betsill grew up playing sports, with golf becoming a lifelong favorite. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Today, he and his wife and two sons enjoy life in the Pacific Northwest. When he’s not in the office, you’ll often find him on the course with the men’s club at Gresham Golf Course or staying active and fit with his family.
