He received his undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Health from Boise State University. During his education, he became intrigued by health and the human body and was searching for a way he could use this passion to help others. After being helped by a Chiropractor for an upper back injury that was hindering his golf game, Dr. Betsill knew that Chiropractic was the perfect vehicle to study health and the human body to help others. He chose Western States Chiropractic College here in Portland, Oregon and graduated in 2007 with a Doctorate in Chiropractic.
Dr. Betsill focuses on helping people recover from neck and back pain, sports injuries, postural stress, auto injuries and work place accidents. Dr. Mark uses gentle and efficient manual, activator method, and drop table adjustments to correct spinal misalignment and extremity dysfunction. He has a specific interest in dealing with neck and lower back disc herniation’s and utilizes a combination of spinal adjustments and computerized mechanical traction for pain relief and improved function for the patient. Many of Dr. Mark’s patients initially seek chiropractic because they are in pain, but often continue care beyond the pain because of his passion of utilizing the chiropractic adjustment to improve and maintain a person’s functional movement and optimal health.
Dr. Betsill treats people of all ages and classifications including infants, children, teenagers, athletes, and females who are pregnant. He enjoys educating others that spinal health is important for everyone, and the fact that chiropractic is very helpful and effective for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot dysfunction and pain.
In 2007, just before graduating from Western States, Dr. Betsill had his own health crisis and ended up in the emergency room two times for syncope, dizziness and chest pain and his health was less than optimal for months. He searched for reasons and answers from the allopathic medical community and realized the problems and answers where staring him right in the face. Physical, chemical and emotional stresses were the problems and everything Chiropractic had to offer was the answer. Managing those stresses with chiropractic adjustments, massage, exercise and proper nutrition became the answer. Dr. Betsill used his bodies own ability to heal and attributes the chiropractic philosophy to guiding him back to optimal health.
